From last thread....
Had to go back and look but Burkie's first season as GM his record was 23W, 47L, 12T, 58 points.
Now that's starting from the bottom. He made salad out of poop then no reason why JB can't. JB's just got to smarten up and clean up this poopshow. - bloatedmosquito
It wasn't Burke who put the West Coast Express together. He inherited those guys from Keenan and Quinn. He also didn't draft Ohlund or trade for Jovo. His goalie problems were never solved til Nonis took over. You call it salad from poop? Explain please. Don't go all CNN on us now.

I fully expect a beatdown by Minnesota, They seem to be very under the radar along with (as Carol mentioned) the Sharks in the West. I think Chicago, Sharks, Wild are the biggest threats to win out of the West. Great blog Carol, nice to see a little inside look of the vets interacting. |

Burke did one thing: manufactured a great trade for two top-5 picks that turned out to be the best two players this franchise has ever had. It was a big one thing though. |

Man. That 3rd goal by SJS really demonstrated how our D can get outmuscled by a big team like the Sharks.
If we're gonna by playing these guys 5 x in the next couple months, you'd like to see some pushback physically.

Joe grabbed at Stecher from behind and put him off balance. Pinball session followed. It's a weakness but not often repeated by Troy. Having Hutton and Guddy would beef things up. Obviously PL is out. Then who? Maybe why JB could trade a D if Sbisa not taken by Vegas. |

We were in that position because of eating poop and calling it salad. Bad results, high pick. Trade player that was brought in by Keenan = Sedins.
It was a great trade though non the less. |

Expansion team can trade any player to any team except their originating team until January 1st, 2018.
Is that better for you |

Kane 14 G in 39 games - VANTEL
Just took a peek at the standings.
Surprised to see Ott doing so well.
Turris, Stone and Hoffman all having good seasons. |

still only 25 years old too.
Virtanen, Boeser, Kane, Baertschi is a decent core for top six wingers.... probably missing an elite scorer, but maybe one of or both of Kane and Boeser turn out to be consistent 30 goal guys |

Virtanen I wouldn't consider part of the core anymore. |

Most likely 4 or 5-1 Minny. We looked like boys to men at times vs SJ last night. Need Gudbranson back...plus looks like Miller is getting back to the muffin zone and reality is setting in. Gonna be a rough month. |

I was at the game last night (yes, apparently I'm a masochist). Quite a few empty seats - especially for a marquee match up against a top team.
Canucks defence was fairly brutal (surprise surprise). Larsen is simply not NHL calibre and should not be anywhere near the ice. Sbisa also resorted back to his give-away days. Stecher also had a poor game, being out of position which led to the first power play goal, and generally had an off night. Tanev also failed to impress. All in all, a poor showing at a crucial time of the season.
Strangely enough, the Canucks forwards did manage to generate quite a number of chances but unfortunately failed to capitalize or were shut down by Jones (a little luck wouldn't have hurt either).
I think it's pretty clear the Canucks will unfortunately be on the outside looking in when the playoffs come around. |
